Syndical Gaming CSGO wins first place at The LANtastic ep. 4

Tue 8th Mar 2016 - 11:17am : General : Gaming

On the weekend of 26th- 28th February Syndical Gaming CS:GO attended The LANtastic episode 4, taking home first place!  The team lineup was as follows:

Kush - Entry rifler
FRANZ - Entry rifler
ToTheTop - Main AWPer
Rik Rolstoel - Support rifler
Bas - Ingame leader/Lurker

The team remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament, winning the finals 16-4 versus Invoked Sense on de_inferno.

We caught up with Bas after the tournament to ask him a few questions, which he answered on behalf of the team.

Congratulations on your win. How do you feel and how is the atmosphere of the team after taking this win?

Bas: "Thanks! Me and my team, are really happy to have won LANtastic Episode 4, especially because we weren't able to get any practice in before the tournament due to other obligations."

Are you happy with the overall performance of the team during the tournament?

Bas: "I'm pretty content with the performance of my team, although it definitely could've been a lot cleaner with some more focus and practice. We were still very confident in our ability to win."

Are there any aspects the team can/should improve in?

Bas: "As for what we can improve: For future tournaments we will definitely have to put more time and effort into scheduling practice. We have a lot of individual skill with a lot of potential, but we still need to work on more team synergy to use our individual skill most efficiently."

What are the team's future goals?

Bas: "At this point we are looking into being more active in online leagues like CEVO-A/IM, ESL Major League and or ESEA Open so we can keep polishing our teamplay in between LAN tournaments. As for offline play we currently are planning to attend both AreaFiftyLAN and The Reality XVII."

What did you think of the LAN event?

Bas: "The LANtastic overall was a really fun and well organized LAN-Party. However, the internet connection was really lackluster. We had a lot of issues with time-outs and packet loss. We also had minor problems with the tournament admins who were seemingly quite inexperienced.

Anything else you would like to say?

Bas: "I'd like to thank the LANtastic organisation, despite the internet issues, for the great weekend! I also want to thank my team for the fun times we had! And last but not least I want to award MVP of the tournament to our one and only t0mMy dA-kInG! (ToTheTop)"

The team frequently streams their practice, so make sure you catch them live at:

That win was such a huge upset on the competition and it was as predicted by akinator: the web genie! They really counted the team out but they eventually pulled off the victory as underdogs. This is a testament to their dedication and hard work at making themselves and their team better. It is so nice to see people reaching success after putting all of that effort and determination into their passions. Even with the prediction of akinator, a lot of people still doubted that they would win against all odds.
